ABOUT CHRISTOPHER M. LYNCH
(B. June 1st 1975 D. NOT YET)
It all began in a janitor’s closet. Upon entering high school, a young Christopher Lynch convinced his principal to let him convert an old janitor’s closet into his own personal darkroom. It was then that Christopher took his first photograph, taught himself how to develop film and print images.
In college, Christopher’s innovation and passion for making images lead him to the music scene. At 18 years old, Lynch had already photographed many of the top bands in the country such as David Bowie, REM, Simple Minds, The Grateful Dead, Blues Traveler, Black 47, Ziggy Marley, and Henry Rollin. While living in Rome during college, Lynch would add another rock star to his list of clients: Pope John Paul II and The Vatican.
After college, Lynch’s work caught the eye of the creative recruiter for Young & Rubicam, who invited him to design and run a photo studio for their worldwide headquarters in New York. As In House Photographer at Young & Rubicam, Lynch spent five formative years collaborating with some of the industry’s top creative talent, creating campaigns for clients such as Citibank, AT&T, and The Bronx Zoo.
After a productive run at Young & Rubicam, Lynch eventually struck out on his own and opened his own studio, creating campaigns for Office Max, Nickelodeon, Sony, the NFL, Bud Light, GAF, and even the Jamaican Bobsled team.
Seven years ago, Lynch started shooting a select amount biopics and short films on subjects that interested him personally. This work instilled another level of confidence in MISTER LYNCH's creative brand and his career as a director took off. Lynch's classical art training as well as his background in various disciplines and mediums lends nicely to his clients’ needs for multi-platform content. Lynch’s visual sensibilities combined with his team’s production capabilities has lead clients to request his vision of the moving image.
MISTER LYNCH’S production team centralizes its talent in New York City, but stretches itself across the United States and abroad. Working in 19 countries (and counting), and nearly every US state has allowed that kid in the janitor’s closet, the young man backstage, the new graduate, the self-taught firebrand Christopher Lynch to emerge as MISTER LYNCH, and offer his vision to you and your brand.
In addition to commercial projects, Lynch’s personal work has attracted attention of the art world. Most recently, his surrealist photo series The Newfounds garnered him a coveted artist residency at the historical Museum of Arts and Design in New York.
